The app does not require an account and contains no advertising, third-party analytics or behavioural tracking. Voice choice, saved phrases, XP, streaks, Sprint scores, review schedule and medals are stored locally on your device. The operator does not receive this learning data.

Lessons, illustrations and Afrikaans audio are bundled with the app. Playing audio does not send lesson text to a speech provider. You may export a progress backup yourself; it is shared only with the destination you choose.

3. Microphone, camera and photos

Live Training uses the microphone only after you actively start a recording. The recording is processed on the device for playback and comparison and is not uploaded by Lekker Afrikaans!. My Lekker Moment accesses a camera image or selected photo only after your choice. The image is processed locally and leaves the app only when you explicitly save or share it.

4. Website and technical delivery

When you visit the website, technical request information such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser/device information and security events may be processed to deliver and protect the service. Processing is based on the legitimate interest in providing a secure, reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

OpenAI hosts the current ChatGPT Site on the operator's behalf and may use infrastructure providers for hosting, maintenance, security and support. The custom domain and its DNS may be provided by Cloudflare. The operator does not use these technical records for advertising or behavioural profiles. Retention is limited to what is necessary for delivery, security, troubleshooting and legal obligations under the applicable provider settings and agreements.

5. Local storage and cookies

The web version uses device-local browser storage for learning progress, preferences, offline availability and the frequency of optional review invitations. These functions are necessary to provide the service. Lekker Afrikaans! does not set advertising or analytics cookies.

You can remove locally stored information by clearing this site's browser data or deleting the installed app.

6. Email support

If you contact support, your message, email address and any information you provide are used only to answer and manage the request. Support correspondence is deleted when it is no longer needed, subject to any legal retention duties. Please do not send sensitive information.

7. Your rights

Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing. You may also complain to a data-protection authority. The authority responsible for the operator's location is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.

8. Updates

This policy is effective from 26 July 2026. It will be updated when the app, website or data practices materially change.
